Pre-Convention Webinars - Convention 2026: Women Unite & Rise

In order to better prepare attendees for the plenary proceedings during Convention, a series of Pre-Convention trainings were offered. Attending these webinars or watching the recordings is mandatory for delegates. This is to ensure all delegates, regardless of how they will be participating (virtual or in-person), are prepared with the important foundational knowledge on the plenary process and business materials to ensure full participation. If you were unable to attend the webinars during their scheduled time, the recordings are posted below. Parliamentarian Webinars
- All delegates must attend or watch the recording of the webinar on 2026 Convention Rules and Parliamentary Procedure which took place on Monday, June 1 at 5pm ET. If you were unable to attend the webinar, you can watch the recording here.
- All delegates must attend or watch the webinar on debate and voting that is appropriate for their registration type (virtual or in-person). Delegates only need to attend/view the webinar for in-person delegates if they are attending Convention in-person OR the webinar for virtual delegates if they are attending Convention virtually.

This webinar is for registered 2026 Convention attendees. It was hosted by our Convention Parliamentarian, Margaret-Ann Howie. She explained some basic concepts of parliamentary procedure found in the League's parliamentary authority, Robert's Rules of Order, Newly Revised, with an emphasis on how to make motions, how to debate, how to raise a point of order, and how Convention rules are used.

This webinar is for registered 2026 Convention Virtual Delegates. It will be hosted by our Convention Parliamentarian, Margaret-Ann Howie, and our tech support, Mills James. They will give a detailed explanation of how debate and voting will work during Plenary for Virtual Delegates. Delegates will also have the opportunity to practice using the voting system.

The Nominating Committee invites you to a pre-Convention webinar presenting the 2026–2028 slate of nominees for the LWVUS Board and Nominating Committee.

This thoughtfully constructed slate reflects strength, balance, and intentionality—bringing together leaders from across the League with diverse perspectives, deep experience, and a shared commitment to advancing democracy. The slate maintains 50% continuity with the current Board while introducing new voices, ensuring both stability and fresh energy.

Nominees represent a wide range of lived and professional experiences, including community organizing, civil rights advocacy, law, finance, fundraising, organizational leadership, and military service. Together, they reflect the diversity of skills and perspectives needed to guide the League forward.

During this 90-minute session, the Committee will:

Present the slate and the approach used in its development
Highlight the strengths and composition of the nominees
Provide an opportunity for attendees to ask questions of the Nominating Committee

This is an opportunity to learn more about the individuals nominated to lead the League into the next biennium and to engage in advance of Convention.
